It’s a surprise to absolutely nobody that Kaia Gerber is a natural on the red carpet—turning a look is hard-wired into her DNA.
Since her career kicked off in earnest a decade ago, Gerber’s red carpet appearances have served as a map to her fashion industry bona fides. The model is a devoted fan of (and friend to) Sarah Burton, following the designer from her tenure at Alexander McQueen to the helm of Givenchy. Burton’s designs are a staple in Gerber’s red carpet oeuvre, from the pewter-sequined gown she wore to her first-ever Met Gala in 2022 to the red hot velvet strapless number she donned at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars party.
Pieter Mulier’s Alaïa has become another go-to in recent years. Gerber turned to the designer for the 2022 Academy Gala, where she opted for a sheer, body-conscious long-sleeve and a rich plum mermaid skirt. But at the 2024 Palm Royale premiere, she did a 180 in one of Mulier’s drapey mini dresses—this one a vibrant teal.
